REMINDER: 2-Headed Shark Attack on SyFy Saturday Night!!!

Just a friendly reminder that this Saturday night at 9 p.m. marks the U.S. Television Premiere of 2-Headed Shark Attack on SyFy.

The film - starring Brooke Hogan, Charlie O'Connell, Carmen Electra, directed by Christoper Ray from a script by yours truly, H. Perry Horton, based on a story by Ed DeRuiter - has been hailed and reviled by critics worldwide, so jump on the bandwagon and see what the hype is all about.

Saturday. 9 p.m. Syfy. A shark with two heads and more bikini screen-time than most sex comedies. What more could you ask for?

inmate profile: Brook Hogan

We start our cast profiles for 2 Headed Shark Attack - on DVD January 31st, tell everyone you know - with rising starlet Brooke Hogan, for whom 2 Headed Shark Attack is her first (U.S. debuting*) film.

As if you didn't know, Brooke Hogan is the eldest child of famed wrestling icon (and, along with Scooby-Doo and Batman, one of my childhood heroes) Hulk Hogan, but started coming into her own fame in 2005 with the airing of her family's reality TV show, Hogan Knows Best. An instant media darling, Brooke has since branched into her own show, Brooke Knows Best (no longer airing) and two pop/dance/whatever-the-kids-are-calling-it albums, 2006's Undiscovered and 2009's The Redemption. Flo Rida's on that second joint. I hear clubs can't even handle that dude, so, score. 


It was only a matter of time before Miss Hogan forayed into acting, and how fortuitous that her first role, as "Dana" in 2 Headed Shark Attack, is destined to be a cult classic. Besides this film, and another shark film with Asylum ties I give info on after the asterisk below, Brooke has also been cast in a cannibal-high-school-thriller, Devour, which also has Asylum ties: her co-star is David Chokachi of Born Bad and 3 Musketeers. 


No doubt 2 Headed Shark Attack will be the launching point of what is likely to be a lively and lasting film career. A classic blonde with sass and intelligence will always do well, and Brooke Hogan proves herself rife with all of these attributes in 2 Headed Shark Attack, on DVD - can you tell I really want you to see this film? Yeah, cuz I wrote the script - January 31st. Go tell it on the mountain.


*Brooke also stars in Sand Sharks, directed by the very formidable Mark Atkins (Battle of Los Angeles, Dragon Crusaders), but we're still waiting for a U.S. release on that one; Brit Committed readers, it's on DVD where you're at.

2-Headed Shark Attack Set to Invade the British Isles in 2012!!!

According to one of my favorite sites, Dread Central, it seems B-movies fans across the pond have something to cheer about this week, as it was announced that 2 Headed Shark Attack - or Two Headed Shark Attack as they're calling it - will be released on DVD in Spring of 2012, courtesy of prolific British producer Jonathan Sothcott (Dead Cert, Devil's Playground, upcoming Strippers vs Werewolves with Robert Englund and Elfie Hopkins with Ray Winstone). Check out these excerpts from the press release:

"Prolific UK horror producer JONATHAN SOTHCOTT (Strippers Vs Werewolves, Elfie Hopkins) is bringing some very different genre films to the British home entertainment market in 2012 through his ‘Jonathan Sothcott Presents’ imprint with leading indie distributor 4Digital Media.

First up, and in keeping with the spirit of Sothcott’s own instant camp classic Strippers Vs Werewolves is TWO-HEADED SHARK ATTACK starring uber-babes CARMEN ELECTRA and BROOKE HOGAN. Sothcott notes, “I love shark movies, JAWS is my favourite film, and I see every one that comes out. This one is destined to become a DVD favourite with its deliriously satisfying visual buffet of stunning babes, outrageous gore and a truly brilliant monster. Casting Brooke and Carmen was brilliant, as they are A grade totty the boys will fall in love with between the amazing set piece deaths the film is peppered with.”

"Sothcott, whose Black and Blue Films has produced 8 UK feature films in the last 2 years, worked as Head of Acquisitions for The Horror Channel some years ago. 4Digital Media’s Tony Taglienti commented, “I always say Jonathan is one of the most commercially-minded producers I know, and we are delighted to be teaming with him on these releases. He has a Roger Corman–type showmanship and is really in love with the genre and helps us reach further on these titles than we might otherwise.

Sothcott said, “Having released a number of my own pictures with 4Digital, I know that indie films have a great home there for the UK. Tony, Steve and Sally really look after film-makers and offer them a truly personal service, and I’m delighted to be working with them on these and other third party titles.

In 2011 Sothcott brought US imports The Frankenstein Syndrome (starring Tiffany Sheppis) and Dead West (as Cowboys Vs Vampires) to the UK market, along with underrated Brit chiller Mindflesh. These films were successful enough for him to formalise his relationship with 4DigitalMedia, and they are looking to collaborate on up to 10 releases per year.

Both films will be released on DVD in spring 2012."

Pretty cool stuff. Sounds like Sothcott's seen the film, or at least parts of it, and it sounds like he's pretty impressed. And speaking of impressive, dig the UK poster for the flick:

I like it, has a real Piranha 3D feel to it. I also love it that the unfortunate woman on the right has somehow managed to lose her bikini top. That's gonna be a rad scene, trust me.

Over here in the U.S. of A., 2 Headed Shark Attack - starring Carmen Electra, Brooke Hogan, Charlie O'Connell and a deep, talented cast directed by Christopher Ray off a script by me, H. Perry Horton, from a story by Edward DeRuiter - will be released on DVD January 31st, 2012, about two months from now. I literally don't know if I can wait that long. 

2 Headed Shark Attack Gets a New Release Date

Never fear, though, we shan't have to wait much longer than originally expected. 2 Headed Shark  Attack - my 2nd script for The Asylum based on a story by Edward DeRuiter, directed by Christopher Olen Ray and starring, among others, Carmen Electra, Brooke Hogan and Charlie O'Connell - has been pushed back from its street date of January 17, to January 31st, 2012. A measly two weeks, an well-worth the wait for what is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated film of the year. 

So drill that into you head, and tell everyone you know: 2 Headed Shark Attack on DVD January 31st, 2012.

2 Headed Shark Attack Gets a Poster!

It's being reported by the venerable folks over at the JoBlo Movie Network that the most anticipated film of 2012, 2 Headed Shark Attack starring Carmen Electra, Brooke Hogan and Charlie O'Connell, has received its poster, and man, is it a doozy:

Pretty awesome, right? It's like a Jaws 2 variant.

There are still many months before 2 Headed Shark Attack is released on DVD on January 17th, 2012, but with the production stills and now this poster to whet our appetites, we should be able to hold out until the trailer drops, most likely sometime in December.

2 Headed Shark Attack is directed by Christopher Douglas-Olen Ray (Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus, Almighty Thor) from a script by yours truly, H. Perry Horton (A Haunting in Salem) off a story by Edward DeRuiter (3 Musketeers).

2 More Names Mentioned for 2 Headed Shark Attack!

I've spoken a few times now about how expansive the 2 Headed Shark Attack cast is, so it stands to reason this information would start to trickle in now that the IMDB page and the Wikipedia page are up. As such, I've learned of two more cast members, so of course I've come online to share the news.

First up is Ashley Bissing, who isn't mentioned - yet - on either page but who responded to my tweet about the IMDB page going live. Seems Miss Bissing will be playing "Kristen" in the film, a delightful firecracker of a character if I do say so myself. Miss Bissing seems to be a relative newcomer to the screen acting biz, as her only IMDB credit to date is as a set production assistant on the Jim Carrey-Ewan MacGregor romance I Love You, Phillip Morris. After 2 Headed Shark Attack, however, it's doubtful she'll be able to walk the streets in blessed anonymity any longer.

Also joining the cast, as verified by the Wikipedia page, is Miss Mercedes Young, another relative newcomer who's only on-camera credit seems to be a cameo in Beyonce's video for "Best Thing I Never Had." Ummm...that's worth like ten movies, at least. Cameo in a Beyonce video?! That's on a bucket list I got around here somewhere, and technically it reads, "ride and/or wrestle an alligator in background of a Beyonce video." I have admittedly strange goals.

Anywho, these two lovely and no-doubt immensely talented young ladies are the newest members of the ensemble that is 2 Headed Shark Attack, lead of course by the formidable Carmen Electra, the endearing Charlie O'Connell and the alluring Brooke Hogan. There are still a dozen or so names to be revealed, and I'm gonna let you know about every damn one of them, because I am (perhaps foolishly) convinced that everyone in the world is as ravenous as I am for any and all info on what is destined to be the greatest shark movie of the 21st Century.

2 Headed Shark Attack Gets an IMDB Page

The most highly-anticipated shark movie of the 21st Century (in my house, at least), 2 Headed Shark Attack, just got it's official IMDB page. At present the only actors listed are those billed over at The Asylum's page, and to them we already know we can add the names David Gallegos and Gerald Webb, but with a pretty large cast, expect this one to fill up quick with a host of actors and actresses soon to become the stuff of legends. As soon as these future B-icons are revealed, I'll be Googling into their professional lives to give you the lowdown.

Another Cast Member of 2 HEADED SHARK ATTACK Revealed!

As production on 2 Headed Shark Attack continues in sunny Florida, we're learning in bits and pieces just who is comprising the cast of this certain-to-be creature classic from The Asylum.

Already we've learned the principal cast consists of notables Carmen Electra ("Baywatch," Scary Movie, Starsky & Hutch), Charlie O'Connell ("Sliders," Cruel Intentions, Kraken: Tentacles of the Deep) and Brooke Hogan ("Hogan Knows Best," upcoming Devour with David Chokachi and Sand Sharks with Corin Nemic), as well as newcomers Christina Bach Norman and David Gallegos; now we're getting word on some of the other cast members, including a familiar face to Asylum fans - the powerfully talented Gerald Webb. 


8-time Asylum vet (Titanic II, Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus, Battle of Los Angeles, Almighty Thor, 2012: Ice Age, Born Bad, upcoming A Haunting in Salem and Zombie Apocalypse) adds a 9th feather to his straitjacket by assuming the role of "Han," one of the Filipino crewmen. That pic below showcases the actor in character, and comes courtesy of the man himself. Webb is an awesome actor, extremely versatile, and is a welcome addition to any Asylum film. I'm not the only one who thinks so. Just this year, Webb received the Golden Cob Rising B Actor Award for his work in Battle Los Angeles. 

In addition to acting in 2 Headed Shark Attack, Webb also served as the film's casting director, which means he's the guy responsible for culling this increasingly-incredible ensemble. 2 Headed Shark Attack will also serve as the fourth time Webb has worked with director Christoper Douglas-Olen Ray, who also helmed Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus and Almighty Thor, as well as the non-Asylum feature Reptisaurus. He's also worked twice with Ray's father, famed B-movie icon Fred Olen Ray, in Silent Venom and the recently-released Turbulent Skies.

Committed regular readers will no doubt remember my exclusive interview with Webb, posted prior to the release of Battle of Los Angeles. For the rest of you, that was a shameless plug to get you to check it out. Obviously.

Anyway, there you have it, another strong addition to a cast that is quickly tying for greatest-ever with the A Haunting in Salem gang: Gerald Webb as "Han," Filipino crewman. I have it on good authority that his Tagalog is coming along quite nicely; that's dedication, people.

2 Headed Shark Attack Casting News - And It's TOO COOL!!!

So, the fine, fine folks over at The Asylum have posted the first cast names for their upcoming creature classic 2 Headed Shark Attack - which I wrote based on a story by Ed DeRuiter for director Christopher Ray - and brace yourself, people, because these are some SPECTACULAR names, the kind of stuff B-movie gold is made of.

First up, in the role of "Babish," the Captain/Professor of the semester-at-sea, we got the great Charlie O'Connell, best known for his work on the TV show "Sliders," "The Bachelor" - on which he was the title fella in question - and films like Dude Where's My Car, The New Guy, and a very cool creature flick I happen to enjoy quite a bit, Kraken, Tentacles of the Deep. Rad flick, and O'Connell gives a great performance in it. Dude's also the brother of Jerry O'Connell, the fat kid from Stand By Me. 

Next up, in the role of "Anne," Babish's wife and ship's medic, is the sultry and stunning Carmen Electra. I'm gonna say that again, because I like it: Carmen Electra is in a movie I wrote. Adolescent Perry is pretty pleased right now. If you don't know who Carmen Electra is, welcome to Earth or happy 0th birthday. Ms. Electra has been in a few horror films, but up to now they've typically had a comedic slant. I for one am super excited to see her take on a straight-up, thrilling, chilling, blood-letting creature feature. 

And then there's "Kate," a prominent student, who shall be portrayed by one Brooke Hogan, best known for being the fruit of Hulk's loins. Believe it or not, Ms. Hogan already has an Asylum connection: her last film, Sand Sharks, was directed by the one and only Mark Atkins, director of Battle of Los Angeles and the upcoming Dragon Crusaders, along with scores of other films.











Beyond these three, the only other cast members mentioned are Christina Bach Norman and David Gallegos, who will be playing other prominent students.

This one's a big cast, though, so this is are only the first wave of names to break, but the principles roles have been filled and then some by those above. 2 Headed Shark Attack hits DVD on January 17th, 2012.
